Dr. Shipra Jain is an endodontist - a dental specialist in saving teeth through root canal treatment. After her BDS she completed her MDS specialisation in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, and has since built a reputation across Gurgaon for solving the cases other clinics refer out: failed root canals, complex canal anatomy, and teeth scheduled for extraction that could still be saved.

Her clinical hallmark is magnification-enhanced dentistry. Working under magnification lets her locate hidden canals and micro-fractures that are invisible to the naked eye - which is very often the difference between treatment that lasts and treatment that fails a year later.

Alongside endodontics she places dental implants - single teeth, multiple implants and implant-supported dentures - which sits naturally next to her specialism: the same judgement about whether a tooth can be saved decides whether an implant is the right answer once it cannot.

She treats patients other practices are cautious about, including those on blood thinners and with complex medical histories, and she is a regular referral point for anxious patients who have avoided dental treatment for years.

Beyond the chair, Dr. Shipra Jain trains fellow dentists through hands-on clinical workshops, including her rubber dam techniques masterclass. What patients mention most, though, is her manner: calm, unhurried, and committed to explaining every step before it happens.

Worth a second opinion

When to ask for an endodontist

A general dentist handles most root canals perfectly well. These are the situations where seeing a specialist first tends to change the outcome - and where it is worth asking before agreeing to lose a tooth.

  • A tooth has been recommended for extraction and you want it assessed first
  • A previous root canal still hurts, or the infection has come back
  • Pain that is hard to localise, or that wakes you at night
  • A tooth that has cracked, or an old crown that has started to ache
  • Swelling or a recurring gum boil near a treated tooth
  • You are on blood thinners or have a complex medical history
  • Dental anxiety has kept you away from treatment for years

Questions about Dr. Shipra Jain

Who is Dr. Shipra Jain?

Dr. Shipra Jain is an endodontist (a dental specialist in root canal treatment) practising at Sector 48, Sohna Road, Gurugram. She holds a BDS and an MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, has 14+ years of clinical experience, and founded and heads Mahavirai Dental and Medical Care.

What are Dr. Shipra Jain's qualifications?

BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) followed by MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) specialising in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, with residency experience at Dr. RML Hospital, New Delhi.

Where does Dr. Shipra Jain practise?

11B, Ground Floor, Vipul Trade Center, Dhani, Sector 48, Gurugram, Haryana 122018. The clinic is on the ground floor, so there are no stairs or lift to manage, and it is a few minutes from Sohna Road, Tatvam Villas, Park View City and Sectors 46-50.

How do I book an appointment with Dr. Shipra Jain?

Call or WhatsApp 096547 30737, email dr.shiprajain.dentist@gmail.com, or use the appointment form on this website. The clinic is open Mon-Sun: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

What is an endodontist, and why does it matter?

An endodontist is a dentist who has completed an additional postgraduate specialisation in treating the inside of the tooth - the pulp and root canals. General dentists perform root canals too, but complicated cases, failed previous root canals and unusual canal anatomy are what an endodontist is specifically trained for.

Does Dr. Shipra Jain treat failed root canals done at other clinics?

Yes. Re-RCT (root canal retreatment) is one of her main areas of work. If a previously treated tooth is still painful, has re-infected, or has been recommended for extraction elsewhere, it is worth getting it assessed under magnification before the tooth is removed.

Is root canal treatment with Dr. Shipra Jain painful?

Treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic and most patients describe the appointment as comparable to having a filling. Many cases are completed in a single sitting. If dental anxiety is the reason you have been putting treatment off, say so when you book, and the appointment will be paced around it.

Does Dr. Shipra Jain place dental implants?

Yes. Implantology is one of her areas of practice, covering single tooth implants, multiple implants, implant-supported dentures and the crowns fitted over them. Because she is an endodontist first, the starting question is always whether the natural tooth can still be saved - an implant is recommended when it genuinely cannot be.

Should I have a root canal or an implant?

As a general rule a natural tooth that can be saved is worth saving, because nothing replaces it quite as well as it performs itself. An implant becomes the better option when the tooth is fractured below the gum, the remaining structure is too weak to restore, or retreatment has already been tried. That judgement needs an examination and an X-ray, not a rule of thumb.

Does Dr. Shipra Jain see patients with medical conditions or on blood thinners?

Yes. Patients on blood thinners and those with complex medical histories are among her regular referrals. Bring your current medication list and any relevant reports to the first visit.
