Digital Dental X-rays in Gurgaon

Accurate treatment starts with accurate diagnosis. Digital X-rays give us instant, high-resolution images at a fraction of the radiation of traditional film - revealing decay between teeth, infection at root tips and bone levels invisible to the eye.

Images appear on screen in seconds, so we can show you exactly what we see and explain your treatment with the evidence in front of you.

Around a third of tooth surfaces cannot be seen directly - the areas between teeth, and everything beneath the gum and inside the bone. X-rays show decay starting between teeth, infection at the tip of a root, bone levels in gum disease, the position of unerupted wisdom teeth, and whether a previous root filling reaches the end of the canal. Diagnosis without them is partly guesswork.

Digital sensors have replaced film here. The image appears on screen immediately, can be magnified and adjusted, and is stored as part of your record so this year's can be compared against last year's - which is how slow changes get caught. The radiation dose is also substantially lower than the film it replaced.

That dose is very small in absolute terms. A routine dental X-ray delivers a fraction of the natural background radiation you receive from simply living for a few days. We still follow the principle of taking them only when they will change what we do, rather than routinely.

A single image of the whole jaw, used for wisdom teeth, implant planning and an overall view.

Comparison over time

Stored digitally, so today's image can be compared with earlier ones to see whether something is changing or stable.

What it costs

X-rays are charged individually and are included unlimited in our Preventive Dental Care packages, which is often the cheaper route for anyone under ongoing treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Are dental X-rays safe?

Yes. A digital dental X-ray delivers a very small dose - less than a short flight. We only take images that are diagnostically necessary.

Are X-rays safe during pregnancy?

With shielding, dental X-rays are considered safe in pregnancy when needed. We always take extra precautions and defer non-urgent imaging.

How often do I need X-rays?

Check-up X-rays every 1-2 years for most patients, or as needed to diagnose a specific problem.

Are dental X-rays safe?

The dose from digital dental X-rays is very low - comparable to a few days of ordinary background radiation. We take them when they will affect diagnosis or treatment, not as routine.

Can I have X-rays while pregnant?

Non-urgent imaging is usually postponed until after delivery. Where an X-ray is needed to diagnose infection or pain, it can be taken safely with shielding - tell us you are pregnant so we can plan appropriately.

Can I get copies of my X-rays?

Yes. They are digital, and we can share them with you or with another dentist - useful if you are travelling or getting a second opinion.
