Gum Disease Treatment in Gurgaon

Bleeding gums are never normal - they are the earliest sign of gum disease, the most common cause of adult tooth loss. The good news: caught early, gum disease is fully reversible with professional care and the right home routine.

We treat the full spectrum: bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, receding gums and periodontitis - starting with gentle, thorough cleaning and clear guidance, and escalating to deep cleaning (root planing) only when needed.

Gum disease progresses in two stages. Gingivitis is inflammation of the gum only - it bleeds, it looks red, and it is completely reversible with proper cleaning. Periodontitis is what follows if it is left: the inflammation reaches the bone, the bone recedes, and pockets form between gum and tooth that cannot be cleaned at home. Bone that has been lost does not grow back on its own.

The reason it catches people out is that it rarely hurts. There is no toothache to prompt a visit - just bleeding that people assume is normal, or that they stop noticing. By the time teeth feel loose or start drifting, a good deal of support has already gone.

Treatment aims to stop the progression and keep what is there. That means removing the deposits from the root surfaces below the gum, giving the gum a clean surface to reattach to, and then maintaining it with more frequent cleaning. It works, but it depends heavily on what happens at home between appointments - which is why we spend time on technique rather than just handing over a leaflet.

Why patients choose us for this

Stops tooth loss early

Treating gum disease in its early stage protects the bone that holds your teeth for life.

Fixes bad breath at the source

Persistent bad breath is usually bacterial deposits under the gum line - cleaning removes the cause, not just the smell.

Whole-body benefit

Healthy gums are linked to better heart and diabetic health - gum care is healthcare.

What to expect

  1. 01

    Gum assessment

We measure gum pockets and chart bleeding points to stage the disease accurately.

  2. 02

    Professional cleaning

Ultrasonic scaling removes plaque and tartar above and below the gum line.

  3. 03

For deeper pockets, root surfaces are cleaned and smoothed under local anaesthesia.

  4. 04

    Maintenance plan

A personalised home routine plus recall cleanings keeps gums healthy long-term.

Your options

Scaling and root planing

Deep cleaning of the root surfaces below the gum line, usually with the area numbed, often split across two visits.

Maintenance programme

More frequent cleaning appointments - typically every three to four months - which is what actually keeps periodontitis stable long-term.

Referral for surgical care

For advanced pockets that do not respond, treatment with a periodontal specialist to access and clean deeper areas.

How long it takes

Deep cleaning usually takes two visits a week or two apart, followed by a review after six to eight weeks to measure whether the pockets have improved.

What it costs

Fees depend on how many areas of the mouth are affected and how deep the pockets are, so an assessment with measurements comes first. Ongoing maintenance visits are quoted separately so you can plan for them.

Afterwards

What the next few days actually look like, so nothing comes as a surprise.

  • Expect sensitivity for a week or two after deep cleaning; it settles
  • Gums may look like they have receded - the swelling has gone down, revealing what was already lost
  • Clean between every tooth daily. Brushing alone does not reach where gum disease lives
  • Stopping smoking makes a bigger difference to gum treatment outcomes than any product you can buy

Frequently asked questions

Why do my gums bleed when I brush?

Bleeding means the gums are inflamed by plaque bacteria. Do not stop brushing - book a cleaning. Bleeding typically stops within days of professional treatment plus proper home care.

Is gum disease curable?

Early gum disease (gingivitis) is fully reversible. Established periodontitis can be halted and managed very effectively, though lost bone does not grow back - which is why acting early matters.

How do I permanently fix bad breath?

In most cases, professional cleaning plus daily tongue cleaning and interdental cleaning resolves it. If it persists, we investigate other causes such as dry mouth.

Can gum disease be cured?

Gingivitis can be reversed completely. Periodontitis can be stopped and stabilised, but bone already lost does not come back - which is why catching it early matters so much.

Will I lose my teeth?

Not necessarily. Many people keep teeth for decades with treated, well-maintained periodontitis. The outcome depends on how advanced it is and how consistently it is maintained.

Is gum disease linked to other health problems?

Research has found associations between gum disease and conditions including diabetes and heart disease, and the relationship with diabetes appears to work in both directions. Your dentist and doctor treating you together is sensible if you are diabetic.
